Rev. Dr. T. Durr is the founder of the Restoration Center, Inc.  He was born in New Orleans, LA; but is now proud to call the state of New Jersey his home.

Rev. Durr studied theology at Morehouse College in Atlanta Georgia.  He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Rutgers University and an Honorary Doctorate Degree from Morehouse College.  He was ordained and licensed as a minister on December 14, 1975.  Dr. Durr has been pastoring in the city of Newark for the past 35 years.   During that time God endowed him with a vision to minister to the needs of the community.

In October 1976, he founded Gospel Cathedral Baptist Church, Inc. which was then located at 92 South 6th Street, Newark, New Jersey. The Church is now located in The Restoration Center, Inc. Complex that encompasses 272-308 South 12th Street, Newark, New Jersey.   Here is a chronological history of the man and his accomplishments:

• 1976 – Founded Gospel Cathedral Baptist Church
• 1977 – Director of the Summer Youth Employment Program
• 1980 – Established the Gospel Cathedral Food Program
• 1982 – Formed Gospel Cathedral Day Care Program
• 1984 – Gospel Cathedral Community Outreach Center
• 1985 – Founded The New Jersey Citizen Newspaper
• 1986 – Started in Radio at WNJR in Newark – Now broadcasting from his own radio station at WSNR 620 AM Weekly – Saturday 12:00 AM to 10:00 AM and Sunday 12:00 AM to 10:00 AM
• 1993 – Founded The Restoration Center, Inc – This center replaced the Community Outreach Center
• Formed Restoration Center Inc. Bus Company – Buses are available for all occasions
• 1996 – The Urban Boot Camp was developed
• 1997 – The Veteran’s Drop in Center
• 2004 – Formed The Restoration Center, Inc. Transitional Housing Facility
• 2007 – Developed the Prison Re-entry Program
